Tip Up Garage Doors

This is a traditional styled door suitable for most residential applications. The whole panel moves through the garage door opening with the use of side hinges and springs. Tip up doors are manufactured from selected 12 x 92mm tongue and groove solid Meranti slats. These are then mounted onto a solid Meranti frame ensuring a rigid door design. Steel painted hinges are mounted onto solid Meranti stiles which then allow the door to move through the opening. The door is balanced using a set of springs suitable to the weight of the door. Doors are finished with one coat of timber preservative or wood primer for final finishing by the customer.

Advantages:

• Economical yet aesthetically pleasing.

• Available in different patterns.

• Customers may submit their own designs, which we will try to accommodate where possible.

Disadvantages:

• The tip up door protrudes through the garage door opening and is therefore not suitable for homes where the garage door is on the boundary line.

• The opening and closing of the door could be impacted by strong winds.
